Our History
It's not hard to see how our 25 years of industry experience began as a simple drive to help people. Laura Herring, our founder, through her private practice specializing in family counseling for corporate Employee Assistance Programs, saw a gap in the system where employees and their families were not getting the help they needed while dealing with the complexities of corporate relocation. After being challenged to develop a new product to help these employees and their families, Laura selflessly closed the door to her private practice and paved the way for what IMPACT Group has now become. Laura’s drive and passion is still directly reflected in our core mission of "making a positive IMPACT on the lives we touch."
Since its inception in 1988, IMPACT Group has seen consistent growth both in revenue and in worldwide presence. From 2005 to 2008, the company expanded its international presence adding 26 hub locations to its global footprint. In 2007, the organization acquired Spherion’s Human Resource Consulting division, which further strengthened its position in providing high quality career management solutions through new outplacement services. IMPACT Group continues to be the industry expert, consistently innovating new career management solutions, developing cutting-edge service delivery options and expanding its reach into new markets.
IMPACT Group started out as a challenge to attend to the needs of relocating employees and their families. Today, IMPACT Group is among the largest WBE-global human resources service providers supporting clients with high-touch solutions in people development, corporate relocation and outplacement that improve individual and organizational performance.
