Assess and build your team. Developing a high performance team will also be essential to your success. Some of the most important decisions you make in your first 90 days will probably be in reference to the people on your team. The first couple of weeks spend individual time with each member of your team. Ask them many of the same questions: What are the biggest challenges the company is facing? What are the best opportunities? What do you feel the company’s priorities should be? How would you describe the culture of the company? What gets rewarded? How do people get ahead? How are decisions made? What advice would you give me regarding the success of the team?
After your individual meetings, develop a plan for your team and each person on the team.
Ask these questions: How will you develop your team? How does each member align with the business strategy? What changes will you need to make to ensure the success of the team?
