The Ease & Scalability of Corporate Online Learning is Appealing, But Comes with Pitfalls

Booming in popularity, the online learning sector grew to $240 billion in 2022 and is projected to be at $848 billion by 2023. LinkedIn Learning is by far the favored platform. IMPACT Group recently surveyed 150 leadership development and HR experts to better understand their use of corporate online learning platforms. Forty-three percent (43%) leverage LinkedIn Learning for employees. Next in popularity is proprietary systems, with 23% of organizations building their own platform for training and development needs.

Employees Expect Opportunities to Grow & Need a Nudge to See it Through

In 2023, 67% of organizations plan to increase the number of online learners who complete courses in leadership and management. Online platforms allow companies to scale training to all levels within their organization at a reasonable cost. While leadership development was once reserved for executives or high-level employees, there is a growing need to invest in high-potential talent at all levels.
